Liverpool creative firms urged to back charity CALM
A CHARITY that works to prevent suicide among young men has launched a campaign to raise £50,000 from 100 of the region’s creative firms.
National charity, the Campaign Against Living Miserably , wants to get 100 firms from the creative sector to raise £500 each.
CALM offers support and advice to young men through a confidential helpline and through its website. The latest campaign – Get Creative and Carry On – will help fund an additional CALM Helpline operator for a year, and will fund the launch of a text message advice service.
Simon Howes, development coordinator for CALM in Merseyside, said: “We are really pleased to be working so closely with many more creative organisations on Merseyside. We have always had a lot of support from the region’s creative sector, and we are really happy to cement our partnership with this campaign.
“CALM resonates so well with young men because the brand is creative and edgy, and we go to great lengths to ensure everything we do relates to those we engage with.
