The number of commercial vehicles bought in May increased positively across the whole of Europe.

The European Automobile Manufacturer’s Association (ACEA) revealed that demand for commercial vans and trucks in the EU increased by a quarter in May.

Commercial vehicle sales climbed 25.1% in May 2011, compared to the same period last year, with the UK marking a 17.2% growth. The increase in commercial vehicle sales illustrates how the working population is more optimistic for the future as they continue to invest in their business.

New van registrations amounted to 146,350 units in May; which is equivalent to 21.5% more than in May 2010 and totalling 689,388 registrations for the whole year.

June 27, 2011 by Katie Tarenorerer No Comments »

LIVERPOOL commercial and residential property agent Keppie Massie has expanded its property management team by taking on four recruits.

The agency, which has offices in Liverpool, in Rumford Place, and in Manchester, has taken on more personnel as a direct result of its growing portfolio of residential and commercial developments in Liverpool and across the North West.

These include Beetham Tower, Park Lane Plaza and the Radisson Hotel, in Liverpool city centre, and the Fox Street Premier Inn, in Preston.

Nick Edwards joins as senior surveyor from the estates department of Chester City Council, and will be responsible for all aspects of commercial and residential property management, together with dealing with landlord and tenant matters.

Sue Peters will be tenant liaison manager and will be a direct point of call for all residents and tenants, with particular focus on the residential side of the business.

Eleanor Murray, property asset management assistant, will work alongside Ms Peters, together with Maria Anderton, property asset management accounts assistant, dealing with all financial aspects of property management, including service charge accounting and debt recovery.

Jenny Adie, head of Keppie Massie property management, said: “These additions to our team will certainly strengthen our offering and ensure we continue to provide the highest levels of services to both tenants and clients.”

Ms Adie claims the agency is enjoying growth in the sector in comparison to other firms who are cutting back.

She added: “Our approach has been to develop and manage relationships with both the landlords and tenants.

“The feedback from our tenants is extremely positive regarding the quality of service that we provide.

“They like the fact that we have our own team of local contractors as this significantly improves response times, and also the fact that they have someone who is their one point of contact for all their queries.”

Keppie Massie was established in 1999 and now employs more than 35 people.

Toyota to Recall 82K Hybrids in US

by Eva Yuen No Comments »

Toyota will recall about 82,200 hybrid SUVs in the US because of computer boards with possible faulty wiring. The car giant said today’s recall will involve about 45,500 Highlander and 36,700 Lexus Rx 400h hybrid SUVs from its 2006 and 2007 lines. The action covers just the vehicles sold in the US, with no other models affected. The recall is the latest setback for Toyota, which is just recovering from the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan in March.

The affected vehicles hybrid system has a computer board with inadequate soldering that could be damaged during high-load driving. If damage were to occur, the company said the vehicles would either continue to operate under reduced power for a short distance, or coast to a stop. The automaker is working on obtaining replacement parts, and for now will notify owners of possibly faulty vehicles by mid-July. Even with a push for recovery, Toyota is expected to lose its spot as the worlds top-selling automaker to General Motors this year because of the disasters.

Aggressive risk-takers pursue “high risk, high gain” business opportunities, with a hope of striking a gold vein and being showered in riches. Some made it, but unfortunately, many fall deep into financial troubles – that almost always includes personal finances.

Why? Because aggressive risk-takers are going all out, including sacrificing their personal finances – in short, they put everything at stake. That is not r
